Flame retardant grade classification method of flame retardant fabric
Flame retardant grade classification method of flame retardant fabricHB: The lowest flame retardant grade in UL94 and CSA C22.2 No 0.17 standards. It is required that for samples with a thickness of 3 to 13 mm, the burning rate is less than 40 mm per minute; for samples with a thickness of less than 3 mm, the burning rate is less than 70 mm per minute; or extinguished before the 100 mm mark.
V-2: After two 10-second burning tests on the sample, the flame goes out within 60 seconds. There may be burning materials falling.
V-1: After two 10-second burning tests are performed on the sample, the flame goes out within 60 seconds. No burning objects should fall.
V-0: After two 10-second burning tests on the sample, the flame goes out within 30 seconds. No burning objects can fall
UL94 standard test procedures and requirements
UL94HB
sample:
5"×1/2"×thickness
(Typical thickness is 1/16", 1/8", 1/4")
program:
There are three samples for each thickness to be tested. Before the test, put the samples under the conditions of 20℃ and 50%RH for 48 hours. The sample should be placed parallel to the long axis and at an angle of 45° to the short axis. For each sample, draw two lines 1" and 4" from one end.
Place a 1" blue flame on the end of the sample that is suspended in the air, burn for 30 seconds and then remove it. If the sample continues to burn after the flame is removed, then measure the burning time of the sample between the two width marks. And the burning rate is calculated in inches per minute.
Level requirements:
94HB
A: For samples with a thickness between 0.120" and 0.500", it cannot exceed 1.5" per minute, and the span is greater than 3.0", or
B: For samples with a thickness of 0.120", the span cannot exceed 3.0", or
C: When the flame does not touch the 4.0" mark, the sample ignites spontaneously.
UL94V-0, V-1, V-2
sample:
5"×1/2"×thickness
(Typical thickness is 1/16", 1/8", 1/4")
program:
A total of 10 samples (2 sets) are tested for each thickness. Five samples of each thickness are tested after being placed for 48 hours at 23°C and 50%RH. Five samples of each thickness were tested after being placed at 70°C for 7 days.
The sample is placed perpendicular to the long axis and installed. When installing, make the lower end of the sample 3/8" away from the top of the combustion tube. Put a 3/4 height blue flame on the center of the lower end of the sample and burn for 10 seconds.
If the sample drops drop by drop, the liquid drops on the layer of unsurgically treated cotton under the sample. This layer of cotton is placed 12" below the sample.
Level requirements:
94V-0
A: No sample still burned for more than 10 seconds after the test flame was taken away.
B: For each set of 5 samples, after 10 ignitions, the total time of burning with flame exceeds 50 seconds
C: No sample has been burned to the fixture (including flame burning and red burning)
D: Without any samples, the burning and melting droplets dripped and ignited the cotton 12" below.
E: Without any sample, after removing the test flame for the second time, it continued to glow and burn for more than 30 seconds.
94V-1
A: No sample still burns for more than 30 seconds after the test flame is taken away.
B: For each set of 5 samples, after 10 ignitions, the total time of burning with flame exceeds 250 seconds
C: No sample has been burned to the fixture (including flame burning and red burning)
D: Without any samples, the burning and melting droplets dripped and ignited the cotton 12" below.
E: Without any sample, after removing the test flame for the second time, it continued to glow and burn for more than 60 seconds.
94V-2
A: No sample still burned for more than 30 seconds after the test flame was taken away.
B: For each set of 5 samples, after 10 ignitions, the total time of burning with flame exceeds 250 seconds.
C: No sample has been burned to the fixture (including flame burning and red burning)
D: Allow the sample to burn and melt the droplets to drip and ignite the cotton at 12" below, but the cotton burn time is shorter.
E: Without any sample, after removing the test flame for the second time, it continued to glow and burn for more than 60 seconds.
UL94-5VA or UL94-5B
According to the results of the sample test, the material should be divided into 94-5VA or 94-5VB
The test procedure is as follows:
The sample without burning through is 94-5VA
The sample burned through is 94-5VB
sample:
5"×1/2"×thickness (stick)
6"×8"×thickness (board)
Typical thickness is (1/16", 1/8", 1/4")
Procedure for rod-shaped samples (Method A):
2 sets total 10 samples to be tested.
5 samples per thickness are tested after 48 hours at 23°C and 50%RH.
5 samples per thickness are tested after 7 days at 70°C.
For rod-shaped samples, install it perpendicular to the long axis.
put a flame with a height of 5" and a 1/2" inner f
